Time to shake off the winter and spruce up your home inside and out (so it will look as BEAUTIFUL as this!) If you’re like me your house can start to feel drab at the end of a long winter. These tips will help you organize your efforts so you can get the best clean with the least amount of effort.

  • First things first, start from the top and work down. Clean fans before cabinets before the floor. Make sure you aren’t undoing all the hard work you are putting in.

  • It is possible that all your blankets and pillows don’t need to be cleaned, just aired out. Hang them up outside for a day to refresh them.

  • Get rid of annoying lime buildup around the faucet by laying paper towels over the fixture, soaking it with vinegar and let it set for an hour. The deposits will soften and become easier to remove.

  • Your porch is the first thing people will see when they visit. Add window boxes, make sure to sweep it up, and maybe give your shutters a fresh coat of paint. This is a great place to start spring cleaning because it makes you feel accomplished.

  • Use a combination wash-and-wax floor cleaner to protect your floors for another year. Make floors really shine by using a combination of a floor cleaner that cleans and shines at the same time

  • Remove dust and dirt from ceiling fans and air-conditioner vents with a cloth and a vacuum with a soft nozzle attachment.

  • Don’t forget about your baseboards! Take a cloth to them and try to remember to re-clean them once or twice a month. They can get dingy quickly.

  • Throw scrub brushes and sponges in the dishwasher to give them a quick clean. No reason to clean with something that is dirty already.

And remember to have fun.  Spring is in the air.  Turn on some good music and make a day of it! 🌷
